Want to design an item that will get put into the map?!

RULES:
 

  • Only 1 entry per person
  • Entries will be disqualified if the complete template is not filled out (keep in mind you may only add to the template)
  • Entries must include an icon (64x64 pixels standard WC3 size)
  • Must be an original item and something new/different from any current item in the map
  • Please don't wait until the last hour to post your entry, if you post your item before others do and they happen to copy your item, their entry will be disqualified and not yours
  • If you are posting any custom models/art to use with your in the editor, please limit it to a minimum as we do our best to minimize the map file size
  • Items can only have a maximum of 1-4 abilities (1 active spell), some of the best items only have one ability too

At first creating an item may not sound that easy. But, by following the template provided it will help you immensely! And of course, this is a must for the contest. No experience of the WC3 Editor is needed. You may display any other information with your post you would like. Examples of different things you could display would be photos, a video of the item in action if you actually create the item in the editor, draft/sketch of your item, and as much information on the item as possible. The more you provide on your item, the more we have to judge you on and understand your item with. If your item is too overpowered you are most likely not going to win, unless you have explained how to balance it. If you don't follow the rules and template you are most likely not going to win. [ Effects ]
~ Ancient reanimation - works like Animate dead (can be auto-casted/toggled)
~ Tidal Wave - When enemy units are hit by tidal wave, they appear looking frosted. (The same appearance when enemy units get hit with a frost tower)
~ Toughened Scales - When the block is successful, a magic shield will appear in front of the Royal Myrmidon for a millisecond or a simple small water burst to the Royal Myrmidon for also a millisecond.
~ Forbidden Fusion - When casted on another Myrmidon, both caster and the unit casted on dies and creates a Royal Myrmidon.

- Cannot be used by rank 17 and below (This is optional)

[ Other Information ]
- If I ever win, can i suggest adding units to the harbor and a main unit (example: Harbor Captain) which needs to be protected for at least 15-25 minutes to obtain the item or obtain the unit carrying it.
- If item is too buffed, too weak or needs other information, mods and admins are free to change it.
- I tried my best to balance out the kilobyte consumed, item functions, etc. by my template. I hope you'll like it  :D.
- I picked Harbor in the FS map as my choice for my template because based on my experience, every FS game I played, there was only one garena player who based in that place. So I thought that I would help improve and popularize that base by making this template  :).

- PS: Can I also suggest making FS npc units that carry items like the alchemist must not drop their item when killed or some sort? Because when these npc's die they drop their items. For example, when the alchemist in the mail room gets killed, he drops the tiny lvl 4 cloning machine which makes players get this item for free even without protecting the alchemist or claiming the mail room. So what I am saying here is, if my suggestion would be inputted, The Harbor Captain won't drop the "Ancient Pool" item.

-  Item Description ~ - From the depths of the ravaging sea, marines stole this weird pool from the kingdom of the Naga King. Still no one knows what horrific powers or creatures that live within this pool.

Item Type:

Permanent Weapon (Spell)

 

Abilities:

Active Spell Ability - Poison  Cocktail (AOE/DOT(Area of Effect/Damage Over Time))

10,000 base damage + 500 damage/second for 10 seconds, Cooldown = 10 minutes, Mana = 0, AOE = 300

"Throws a poison cocktail at a group of enemies dealing heavy poison damage over time." 

 

Passive Ability - Slow Poison Damage

10% Slow + 150  damage/second for 3 seconds (Single target)

"Allows the users attacks to deal slowing poison damage."

 

Effects:

Huge poison explosion when the "Poison Cocktail" ability is used. Leaves a field of poison on the ground for 10 seconds.

You achive this Item when you were able to surive the very easy mode. Air and Invis have to be activated.

Abilities:

Active Spell Abillity - The Frost Ring (Single Target/ Frostbite )
6.5 sec Frosbite the target, Cooldown = 30 seconds, Mana = 0, AOE = 0

( Can frostbite all types of enemy )

Passive Ability - Every Enemy Uses Skill, All nearby Enemy Got Slow and decreases Attack speed For last 10 seconds

Effects:

Small Nova Explosion When The Frost ring used, Effect last for 4.5 seconds

 

Stats:
With 6 charges only per game :)

Can be sold by 0 gold and 0 lumber  <_<

 

Other Information:

Ice Destroyer Drop his ring after his death " the Frost ring "

Permanent item

Quest item (do a special quest for a shady looking guy in the fortress ((maybe find some item for him that will randomly spawn in the fortress))... at your own risk)

(Or shop item)

Abilities:

Active ability:

Gives the user flight (like wings)

"TAKE FLIGHT WITHOUT THE LIABILITIES OF WINGS!"

Passive ability:

While using flight 1% chance per second for engines to combust, instantly killing the user.

"The jets are not as sturdy as they look and at any second they could explode... taking the user with them."

Gives Truesight

"The constant flames from the jets allow the user to see anything hidden."

Gives immolation 100 damage per second. (Don't know whats a good number here. 100 shouldn't be OP but will it still be useful?)

"The constant flames from the jets burn any enemies foolish enough to get close to the user."

Effects:

Fire coming off the user while in flight

Explosion (any explosion, goblin land mine maybe? when engines combust)

Stats:

No charges due to item having huge setback.

Item can be destroyed. (I don't know what average item health is and maybe make it destroyed when the engines combust)

Item can not be sold.

(Maybe this could be the background story from the shady guy  ^_^)

Psst hey, you see all those people flying around with their fancy schmancy wings? Don't be like them... All it takes is a single tear...  Or to get tired midflight... And bam your a dead man... This is the "more reliable and more powerful" item you recieved from a shady figure. The constant thrum of the jets calms your nerves. However closer inspection shows that these jets have seen more than their fair share of war... Do you dare use this item?

Abilities: 

PASSIVE: every second charges up by 0.1* the hero-s main stat.

PASSIVE:every attack deals accumulated charge of damage to target and sets charge to 0.

ACTIVE:upgrade: for 100g, 200g, 400g.
    each upgrade takes 0.2 seconds off the recharge timer. 

PASSIVE: when within 1000 range of shocking towers will charge 100*(TOWER_LEVEL^2) / DISTANCE_BETWEEN_UNIT_AND_TOWER. this happens at the same interval as the stat-based charge (and at same time possibly).

 

Effects: 

turns the units projectile into a blue dart/laser thing.

Stats: Item Charges, Item Health,Item Size, Etc.

item is permanent.

charge starts at 0.

charge is increased every 1.0 seconds at first.

maximum upgrade at 0.4second interval.

 


Other Information: not sold in a shop. awarded for reaching 111 1111 lumber produced before trojan spawns. permanent in code. unsellable.

Flame Burst

 

Item Type:

Achievement item 

Boss Drop/Achievement Item

 

Abilities:

Active Spell-Flame Explosion (Area Effect)

6,000 Base Damage + 3 Second Stun Cool Down=6 Minutes Mana=150, Aoe=550

 

Passive Ability -  Combust

When A Unknown is killed by this spell it will combust then explode dealing 2,000 damage around that unit.

 

Effects: 

Slams the ground then releases a pit of fire. Will leave a field of Flames on the ground for 5 seconds

 

Stats:

No Charge due to item spell having a cooldown 

 

Item Cannot Be Sold 

Item Cannot be Destroyed

 

Other Information:

A Mythical item that was said to belong to the Fire Destroyer. It was used to Burn all that stood on its path.

Item Type: Shop Item

 

Abilties: Active Ability - Metamorphosis (Unit)

900-1000 damage, 1000 Mana

Headshot (Damage equivalent to maxed skill of Marine hero)

Reinforce 

 

Effects: Turns survivor into an offensive unit (Could be marine skin, or anything else the map developers desire) to help defend his base!

 

Stats:

No charges due to spell having cooldown

Cooldown-200 seconds

Can be sold for half price

Mana Cost-50

Duration-20 seconds

Cost: 50 Gold and 1000 Lumber

 

Other Information: The survivor finds armor of his fellow dead allies and decides to use it to carry on the legacy of his teammates. Its time for the survivor to do something other than build!

Huge amount of resources were poured in search for a defense against the onslaught. An item was developed as a result of massive experimentation on the SnowMan before it escaped the research facility.

 

Armor vs Lumber Curve (probably needs some modification ~1 armor per 7k lumber on mad mode) [Half if on nightmare]

2nd upgrade analysis: 

Assuming average lumbers of all players = 60000 before trojan spawns, then 30000 HP will be added to the wall. This probably needs to be tweaked by adding an upper limit before behemoth dies and then removing the limit at endless spawns.

 

3rd upgrade analysis: 

Burst of Lightning may seem overpowered but take note it only activates every 25 seconds once the health falls below 25%.  Assuming an HP of 200,000, the passive skill will only deal 39000 damage which is lower than black larceny's skill.

- If I ever win, can i suggest adding units to the harbor and a main unit (example: Harbor Captain) which needs to be protected for at least 15-25 minutes to obtain the item or obtain the unit carrying it.
- If item is too buffed, too weak or needs other information, mods and admins are free to change it.
- I tried my best to balance out the kilobyte consumed, item functions, etc. by my template. I hope you'll like it :D.
- I picked Harbor in the FS map as my choice for my template because based on my experience, every FS game I played, there was only one garena player who based in that place. So I thought that I would help improve and popularize that base by making this template :).

- PS: Can I also suggest making FS npc units that carry items like the alchemist must not drop their item when killed or some sort? Because when these npc's die they drop their items. For example, when the alchemist in the mail room gets killed, he drops the tiny lvl 4 cloning machine which makes players get this item for free even without protecting the alchemist or claiming the mail room. So what I am saying here is, if my suggestion would be inputted, The Harbor Captain won't drop the "Ancient Pool" item.

I love the idea of scaling armor to lumber.. but i think it needs a little bit more work.

if ARMOR= ln(lumber) and max=10 then you would get 10 bonus at 22k wood produced allready.

that would just be equivalent to buying 10 armor.(few people buy 20g armor items at 22k produced most do it later)

the limit of 10 amor also makes little sense. to get 12 armor you need 162k wood produced.

i propose switching to a less agressive logarithm (log2 or less), and no upper limit.

example : armor= Math.ceiling(ln2(produced) -3 , 0) -> +13 at 100k produced, +7 for 1k produced. +0 for 8.
