Im getting the impression that everybody is basically giving variations on 1 or 2 basic systems so...

some examples to help stir your imagination :)

.. might add a few more if i stumble across sth interesting..

Cool that you looked for more ideas. If you are able to make the items start already on the inventory, great. If not, that would make the 3 of them not so good.

Since we are looking for a solution, having to start the game, typing your code and then pick up the droped items would be a drag.

I vote for a solution that you woudn't have to do anyting. just start the game and when you need, take the items out.

Is really cool. Took me some minutes to figure how to put the items there, but still no clue how to take them out.

I think this one could be really good with some changes, since it's realy similar to what i proposed. It doesn't have the number limitation of the Backpack and the way it's shown is way less invasive to the layout of the map. So, if these changes are possible, I would vote for this one:

  1. Make the Donators items spawn inside the inventory
  2. I don't know how to take the items out, but change whatever it is to drag the items out of the inventory(with mouse ofc), and be able to place it on the ground or any unit with slot avaible.

With these changes, it would be as good or better than the system I proposed.

So, since mine only had that problem, this one(fixed) would have no Cons, the perfect system :P

Also cool, but would be necessary use it as a skill on the survivor. And again, if you are able to make the items start already on the inventory...

Couldn't make that one work, so nothing to say

what issues did you have with the last one?

the demo map at least worked fine for me.. or anything im missing?

also there was once a fully automated save-load system implemented.. but the performance impact was deemed too bad :'(

Well, I downloaded the map, and when I clicked on the items, they just disappeared. I didn't see any inventory, and on the thread, there was nothing teaching how to use it.

u press ESC to see the inventory.
the hero inventory is only like 5% of the storage capacity..
and its not used by default. main use seems be like pots and stuff.

The part about items stacking makes me a little nervous... If people could stack health stones AND larcenies AND have their elemental stone, they might be able to just leave their heroes in the middle of the map to crush bosses as soon as they spawn, and we'll be facing another issue of OP heroes like we did with the commander. Granted, it would require a little more skill on the players part to acquire the income necessary for it, but it's still something to be wary of.

I'm pretty sure u can configure that, so that's not a real concern.

After all there was like 86 pages of feedback for that thread I'm sure there's been plenty of shaking the tree.. :P

It is just a suggestion, and it might not be too good, but here it is:

I am thinking that you might find a way, that past a certain rank (maybe 15-20) a pack horse is implemented in a players save code. And past a higher rank (maybe 25-30 or higher) they get to have a total of two pack horses.

Now, as I said, this is just a suggestion, but I find that to be a nice solution, so that players can get to earn their extra inventory, instead of just being given it. Players under level 20 wouldn't need twelve inventory slots (included their own inventory) as much as players over that level.

Make an item that spawns the items associated with the save code/donation perks when it is consumed? Quick and simple.

Another idea I had is that you would have a vault which you can build and has pages of inventory slots which can hold items and when you load your excess items go into it.
Its build time should be low or you could start with nothing but the vault item and you build it to get access to it.
