It's not just one factor that makes some bases be ignored.
For example: The big majority of the players fight to see who claims the security room first.
It's not just about the alchemist, which everyone wants, but it's also about the units.
The said base, has a really strong combo with diversified units.
With that in mind, sure. If all players start with an alchemist, that would be great, but it wouldn't stop the fight to claim X or Y base first.
Back on 6.45, not so many bases were ignored, because we could still use the comand -exile.
So, almost everyone got used to claim the "best" units from X base and go to whatever base they wanted to play. Because, as getting there, it was just a case of exile the units there and start to base.
That's no longer possible, so even fewer players go to those already not so popular bases.
Sure, something should be done about it, but I think this wont solve the problem.
Just because they will have a free alchemist, doesn't mean they will give up on rushing to claim a base, since they've got it for free anyway...
Regardless, I'm in favor of this idea because, starting with an alchemist, all players would assume/figure that they need this unit for something.
I've seen a lot of players just building lumber mills, without the help of factories, nor using an alchemist.
If this were to be implemented, all players would take knowledge of how to use the the alchemist way faster.
Also, in the rush to claim the base first, there's always the ones who lose the race. Usually those players don't know all bases with alchemists, and end up without one.
This would definitely solve this issue, and make any base on the map claimable, since you'd already have an alchemist.
