we (meaning Nevo n' BabyMichael) are hard at work weighing the different heroes, but this is a rather laborious process and often it is very hard to compare 2 different heroes fairly.

 

In any case it isn't likely the hero will be added in the next release (we trying hard to release as soon as possible as we are already delayed way past what we would like..and... we would like this one to be of higher standard than some previous releases..)

The rewards for 2nd & 3rd still haven't been posted. Have they even been decided?

I think they might be the spell to summon the won hero? For free?

The rewards for 2nd & 3rd still haven't been posted. Have they even been decided?

If i remember correctly there is no 'Real' reward for the 2nd/3rd place. you just get 'known'.

That's terrible. I believe there should be some simple prize. Perhaps give them a survivor model of their hero concept? I think that would serve as a reminder to how close they were to actually being put in as a hero and it would also serve as a joke to be like "lul, there you go, it's in the game". :P

idea for hero is actually of little use ...

it takes massive amounts of time to make custom hero compared to most anything else. figuring out the abilities is just a small part of it.

what WOULD be useful :

  • provide JESP spells to be used with your hero
  • provide any copy-paste implementable spells (if u got no idea what the heck JESP is) make it in GUI and convert to custom text will be very good allready.
  • provide implementation of hero(with abilities) or spells in an empty map: much more work for us.. but still lots simpler than doing it from scratch. has good chance to be implemented . as compared to a regular suggestion rarely makes it.
  • join the dev team! the #1 way to get ur stuff in the map (con: we need be convinced u know the basics of world editor and u can be trusted, wont happen overnight (but for long term community members wont take ages either))
    • PM Nevo if u interested.
  • do provide any pluggable component that will be useful in any way and put along a good explanation of why u think we need it.
  • anything that goes beyond "i want this in map"@forums will be on the short list to get implemented. forum threads can be very interesting to read but often it is hard to see the benefits of the effort that would be required.

If we see you have put your own effort toward implementing the feature you like , YOU WILL STAND OUT and we will be VERY happy for the help :)

If you think we are ignoring something worthwhile, PM us and explain why that needs another look (expect bout 3 days for busy nevo to get to read the thread tho, wait a day or two :P )

If you don't know how to do something, ask for help.

So does the winner of this contest get the Hero he designed for himself like a custom hero or does it just get to be able to buy by everybody in the command center?

the winner gets the hero added to the game. (and possibly a reference that he designed it) he will not get this as custom hero (imo shouldn't)

I don't want to be the only one that could use this hero, so I'm happy to hear that it's probably going to be open to the public. I feel that after you unlock the commander, there isn't much reason to keep ranking up, other than increased mana regen, so heroes at higher ranks makes me happy.  A reference would be pretty cool, but if it's any trouble then don't worry about leaving it out.

 

Thanks to the dev's, for all the time you guys put into the game for us  :D

Ofc my Overall strength of hero 2/5.

my hero is usually designed for a support hero. because almost all of the heroes are offensive. ==

......just im sorry for what happened before..

like WTF is overall hero str anyway?

is it the strength attribute?

is it survivability?

is it dps?

is it strength of spells?

is it being balanced?

 

also support hero's str only isrevealed by the effects it has on other units.. so how you measure this?

or was it simply ignored?

 

(and if it is hero power then comon i had the most OP damage ever :P )

.. i like to design things that perform well... too bad it performs better than trojan :P
