Hey all this question is mainly for people who have worked on fs itself or anyone who has wc3 map making experience. Can you direct me to a list of programs you used to set up your development environment?

Saw792 had posted a very good list that i was going to use, but that post was wiped awhile back when nevo decided to clean the forums.

newgen. That is all a person requires.

Unless you are only going to use GUI then use EGUI

He's right thats all you need. I personally use Version 1.23 (of Warcraft 3) for editing my map and use 1.24 just to make sure it works. My editor is newgen, so there you go.

I use NewGen, and Pandora. NewGen for map making, Pandora so I have a beat to map make to. NewGen isn't needed to map make, it's just useful. If you're going to be GUI-ing, it doesn't really matter.

not really newgen helps you to change the game interface much easier than normal WE.

if you are using newgen without the other fancy stuff you might as well just use Jasscraft.
