I recently started playing fortress survival and loaded an old code. Turns out my virus (benign and malignant) was gone. I then asked for people to infect my builder but it doesn't seem to work.

Have you tried different codes?

I'm asking this just to get a better feedback because you are not the first to report this, but since no one has ever explained what they have tried or not

nothing was done so far.

If you havent, could you please try 2 or 3 older codes that you are sure had all the achievements and see if it works?

Also, when people infect your survivor does the message " the infection is spreading " show up or not?

Just to be sure, when you ask people to infect you, it must be the 1st or 2nd usages of the virus, the other charges after that  wont spread the infection.

@AzZ: I tried to infect someone with 2nd/6 malignant virus hours ago, but it didn't work. I would expect that infected builder will have benign virus on them if it is a successful infection? Another question: Does the infection source have to be my builder? In other words, can I place malignant virus on the defense statue and infect other builder?..

Yes, if the survivor is successfully infected, it will display the message " the infection is spreading " and both your survivor and the targets will get 6 charges of benign virus.

I'm not 100% on the second question, but I vaguely remember that the virus had to be on your survivor.

Yeah i think the Virus as to be on the survivor

only survivor can infect other survivors originally,. i'm not sure but i think that still is the case
