The Energy Regeneration buff given to heroes works great. It's a cool mechanic, it's very useful, and it makes higher-level play a lot easier the more you practice.

BUT. Alchemists don't get that buff. The only way they can regenerate mana faster than usual is by drinking mana potions. I wish there was an item that regenerated mana passively, like a Mana Stone that cost 250 (or 500, or whatever) lumber but regenerated 5 (or 8, or 10, or whatever) mana per second. It would be an expensive investment, but the alchemist wouldn't have to keep running back to the vendor to stock up on more mana potions. The stone would keep his mana topped off.

I'm kinda lazy.

I believe we did have a mana stone at some point in the game and I am sure we still have it.

It is something to think about :P

I don't see how that would affect the original alchemist unit that most people spawn with.

There are ways to solve this problem...
1° Use Alchemist hero, you wont ever have problem with mana using him to shrink the mills.

2° Have more than one alchemist. If you have 2 or 3, you can rotate between them and wont have to buy that many mana potions.

3° Use the Tree of Vigor. It will replenish all the mana, this is a great option to use with 2 alchemist. you will never have to buy mana.

In my opinion, you either go for a custom alchemist, or play using the Alchemist hero.

I used to play only with him before i had my custom hero. I know its hard, but its doable...

I'm not in favor of the mana stone, mostly because that would break the balance of mana regen that the heroes have.

High rank players, which have a good mana regen. If they use the mana stone combined with the top rank mana regen could make their heroes OP.

But above all, dude! Mana potions cost 5 lumber each pot. its not expencive at all...

if not people will not buy custom alchemist anymore and that will cause fortress survival devs and owners will lose money instead.

With 2-mill system, I might need around ~40-50 manapots during a game as lumberer, maybe more.

40 x 5 lumber = 200 lumber.

What if there was a item, that you could get for, say, worth 2g (80-100 lumber), that would boost manapool and manaregen and reduce the need of manapots for non-custom alchemist. Even with high price for early game, I would think it as an investment and as a relief from not needing to spam pots constantly ^_^

Sure not everyone would need or even want to buy such an item (4+-mill setup, custom alch, alch hero, etc), but I would probably buy it every game  I don't want to use alchemist hero either, because tinker is much more usefull.

Greets,

KeXi
