through voting in game. I've encountered games where the player on the red spot, is usually AFK or DCs, or people don't even sit on that spot at all.
So what I'm suggesting is that allow us to change the difficulty in game through voting. This could help us with the problems mentioned above and could enable us to adjust the difficulty if we believe that the current difficulty is too easy or if the player in the red spot picks a mode want the mode that the majority doesn't want.

Yeah i think it will be good idea when red is afk/Dc or simply not here at all, i made this suggestion yesterday to DEV after seeing it (No red or D/c) 2 games in a row

Yeah I just suggested the idea to Nevo yesterday after having been in a game with no red. It'd be awesome if this fix happened. I was in a game with Shtroumf actually when we had no red haha.

what if they pick different mode? for example the other player wants to play in impossible mode and the other player wants nightmare mode?

This is definitely spot on. There has been many games where i played in which red goes afk and the mode automatically goes to default (normal no air no invis). That is not a problem for me as sometimes i play with newbies and they need to loearn. The real problem is when the red player comes back from afk-ing, for some reason god knows why he still can select the mode and behold he decides to be a douche and chooses nm air invis and spoils the whole game (dk if it can be abused for eternia or not where u chooses nm air invis at the ending).

What if it was just made so that everyone voted on the modes.

i think its ok that red choose the mode, i wouldnt want to vote each game, the problem is when red is afk or d/c before the game start

I think a majority vote would be a good way to do it. Show what everyone votes and so the people who aren't sure they can just follow what others do. If there are outliers then majority would win. It would solve the afk problem and this is a team game so everyone should be on a similar page when the game starts. It would cause no problems for solo, in fact one might argue that it enhances solo because red is not mandatory.

we could have it like a general vote, that lasts say 30s and just give red like 11x more weight. that way red still gets to choose, but when he is afk the vote takes effect...

Yeah I like that idea, that way we wouldn't have to wait for some timer to countdown before the vote starts.
