Hi everyone. I decided to use the alchemist addition as an opportunity to make a little guide to choose the right base for you. I will make a general setup and show some optional setups for lumber. I will mainly be using the 2 lumber method as it is the fastest. Some bases can do what I like to call the donut or the square. I will not be doing that because it takes up a lot of space and not a lot of bases can do it. Besides with the changes to mana potions everyone can do the 2 lumber setup now. If you want a quick list of bases I think are the best, scroll down to the bottom and I will have a list of 10 that are in my opinion the best.

Ill start with the top left side of the map and continue in quarters clockwise around the map.

Abandoned Village

Walls: 4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

Pretty much the most spacious  and most open base. Can fit as many towers and lumber as you want or need. There are 4 walls to upgrade and protect. Some people might not like that. As far away from everything as you could possibly want. Corner base is always good for air.

A-14

Walls: 2

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

Great spot if you like to lumber full time. Very safe, very far from the middle. Can fit 4 full size level 7 lumber mills. Can fit more than you need and want. Excellent spot for those that like to lumber full time. Can put quite a few towers so I will rate that a B. Does not come with any units.

Attached File  A14.jpg   152.62KB   9 downloads

Bank

Walls: 4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: B

Great spot for towers and lumbering. It has some things I don't like such as the blockage to the right of the base but that's just personal preference. Comes with a marine, a rocketeer, 2 snipers and 2 civilians. They could be helpful in defending the base early on.

Attached File  Bank.jpg   178.07KB   1 downloads

Z-53 + Bank

Walls: 2+2

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General:A

I rated this one an A and just the bank a B because with a 2 wall you can fit more repairs per wall for each wall. The walls in Z-53 is just close enough to have 1 defense aura statue effect all 4 walls. This saves 1 space for more towers. It is very easy to tower here. Very straight forward. I would highly recommend this base if you have a buddy that lumbers or vice versa.

Attached File  Z53+Bank.jpg   155.43KB   3 downloads In this picture you can ignore the walls and repairs at the top. I made the base at the same time as the bank so it creeped into this picture.

B-13

Walls: 2+2

Lumber: B

Towers: B

General: C

I would avoid this base unless you plan on chain basing with Z-53. This base is just wide enough that it forces you to use 2 defensive aura statues for each side. The right side is just close enough that it will receive the majority of the monsters. While the left side will see nothing. until you least expect it of course. So if you do decide to base here. make sure you upgrade both sides evenly even though you don't get much monsters on the left side.

Z-88

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: B
General: A

A good of base as any. Comes with a few units. Can fit a 2 lumber mill setup as well as 4 level 7 mills. Can fit a decent amount of towers and plenty of space left over for others. Overall good base.

Attached File  Z88.jpg   181.73KB   2 downloads

The Lost Post

Walls: 2

Lumber: C

Towers: C

General: D

Pretty much as bad a base as you can possibly get. Max 2 level 7 mills, No space for towers, You get 2 snipers but it is not worth the trouble. I would skip this base.

Attached File  The Lost Post.jpg   141.49KB   0 downloads

The Waterfall

Walls: 3

Lumber: B

Towers: C

General: C

You get 1 alchemist for a base that can only fit 3 level 7 mills. I don't think this base is worth basing in. You don't have much space for anything in this base. I would avoid this base.

Attached File  Waterfall.jpg   145.64KB   0 downloads

The Hold

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: A

You get a lot of units for this base. Free True sight on the special marine that has chaos damage. Along with 3 snipers and a paratrooper, this base is one of my favorites. It is just the right size that it can fit all the level 7 mills if you need and can fit quite a bit of towers.

Attached File  The Hold.jpg   177.97KB   8 downloads

A-11

Walls: 2

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

You get quite a bit of units here as well. You can fit a lot of towers in this base and 4 level 7 mills. This base if overall I think the best 2 wall base in the game.

Attached File  A11.jpg   182.02KB   5 downloads

The Hideout

Walls: 2

Lumber: B

Towers: C

General: C

This base is a bit small. It can only fit 3 level 7 lumber mills and I wouldn't even try towering in this base. It is good for the challenge if you want it. 2 Lumber setup is mandatory for this base as every other choice would take too much space. Comes with 2 snipers.

Attached File  The Hideout.jpg   163.77KB   0 downloads

Teddy's Cave

Walls: 3

Lumber:B

Towers: A

General: B

I think this base is good for the size. However the lumber setup spot is too far away from where you would want to place them. I think it would be silly to go to this base and not tower. The entrance is a bit tight so you lose out on 4 repair bots. This base I think is decent.

Attached File  Teddy's Cave.jpg   150.72KB   0 downloads

Summer Cottage

Walls: 4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

I like this base a lot. It can fit a ton of towers and a ton of lumber. I think if you solo this base, the tinker hero is a huge plus. You can do a double lumber setup and tower for damage. That would be what I would do. Corner bases are also very nice for air. I recommend this base if you like to tower and lumber.

Attached File  Summer Cottage.jpg   167.87KB   2 downloads

Garden of Eden

Walls: 2

Lumber: B

Towers: C

General: C

This base is very weird. The tower/pool takes up 16 building spots right in the middle of the base so it is quite difficult to build around. It can fit a maximum of 3 full size level 7 mills. I think it is okay to base here. If you want to be full time lumberer here you just need to shrink down the level 7 and put it at the top in the middle. 2 can go there. Overall decent base but I think there are easier bases to work around. Could make for a nice signature base.

Attached File  Garden of Eden.jpg   170.87KB   0 downloads

C-24

Walls: 2

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

I would lumber this base differently because it comes with 4 repair factories. I would use that for building lumber instead of the normal 2 lumber mill setup. This also a good base for putting some towers. Comes with 4 suicidal sheep and an extra alchemist which can be helpful. I recommend this as a backup in case your first choice is taken.

Attached File  C24.jpg   146.31KB   1 downloads

C-23

Walls: 2

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

I think this base is also quite nice. I recommend using the 2 lumber mill setup with the wall repairs. The base can fit a few towers which can be helpful. This base comes with 2 rocketeers which are really helpful for early game. This base is quite good. I recommend this as a backup in case your first choice is taken.

Attached File  C23.jpg   193.44KB   0 downloads

The Courtyard

Walls: 6

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: B

I think this base has too many walls for a base of this size. This base can fit a lot of towers and a lot of lumber. But for a 6 wall base I think it should have enough for 2 people. This base could be good for trying a unit only game. This base comes with 2 snipers, 1 medic, 1 rocketeer and Lt. Barathrum who gives a command aura for some extra damage.

Attached File  The Courtyard.jpg   174.36KB   2 downloads

C-22 + D-21

Walls: 5

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

This base is similar to the summer cottage as it gives a ton of space for towers and lumber. Similarly like in Summer Cottage I recommend tinker for this base as well. I would try a double lumber setup for this base with some towers.

Attached File  C22+D21.jpg   155.95KB   1 downloads

D-21

Walls: 2

Lumber: A

Towers: C

General: B

This base is good for the size. It has 4 level 7 mills and still have space for other things. although I would not tower in this base. Good for a small full time lumber base.

Attached File  D21.jpg   167.2KB   2 downloads

Security Room

Walls: 6

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: C

I think similarly like courtyard I think this base is too small for a 6 wall. This could be good for a 2 person base or an all unit base. This base comes with a lot of units.  I wouldn't recommend this base.

Attached File  Security Room.jpg   153.42KB   0 downloads

C-26

Walls: 1

Lumber:C

Towers: C

General: C

This base is quite small. It can fit 3 fullsize level 7 mills and pretty much nothing else. I wouldn't recommend this base.

Attached File  C26.jpg   125.85KB   0 downloads

V-74

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

I think this base is pretty standard. Not too big not too small. Fits 4 level 7 lumber mills. Comes with no units. This is an okay choice but there are better choices.

Attached File  V74.jpg   179.62KB   0 downloads

Torture Chamber

Walls: 5

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: C

This base takes a lot to set up. Especially in the higher difficulties. The units in the cells scale with difficulty so they become extremely hard to kill early on. I would not go to this base unless you are a masochist.

Attached File  TortureChamber.jpg   174.97KB   2 downloads

W-63

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

Another fairly standard base. Doesn't come with any units, can fit 4 level 7 lumber mills. This is an okay choice.

Attached File  W63.jpg   129.41KB   0 downloads

Library

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: C

General: C

Decent choice for a base, There is a lot of space to build as long as you are willing to work around the obstacles. Can fit 4 level 7 mills fairly easily. Tower options are limited by the range. Comes with quite a bit of units.

Attached File  Library.jpg   181.66KB   0 downloads

V-72

Walls: 1

Lumber: C

Towers: C

General: B

I say this is an easy to defend base because it has only 1 wall to repair. It makes a quick bottleneck with the monsters, Lumber is hard in this base because you will be forced to move mills around to get 4 level 7s. Fits 2 full size level 7 mills.

Attached File  V72.jpg   168.71KB   2 downloads

X-65

Walls: 2

Lumber: C

Towers: C

General: C

Come with 2 rocketeers which can help early on. Can only fit 2 full size level 7 mills, very small base. Not worth it in my opinion.

Attached File  X65.jpg   144.78KB   0 downloads

W-62+ W-61

Walls: 4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

Overall good base. Quite a bit of space for lumber and towers. I think a double lumber setup would work nicely.

Attached File  W62+W61.jpg   129.27KB   2 downloads

W-61

Walls:3

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

I would recommend lumbering below the walls and then transmuting them to the right because otherwise your alchemist would waste quite a bit of time walking. You can also use the double lumber setup like in W-62 and it would work fairly well. Quite a big base.

Attached File  W61.jpg   188.19KB   3 downloads

X-64

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: C

General: B

This base is fairly standard like most of the other 3 wall bases. Fits 4 Level 7 mills. Decent choice.

Attached File  X64.jpg   161.17KB   0 downloads

Fort Harbor

Walls: 4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

One of the best bases in the game. Lots of units and lots of space. I recommend using the double lumber setup with tinker and pumping out mills like crazy. Tons of space for it and comes with a merc tent to make things even easier. Highly recommended.

Attached File  Fort Harbor.jpg   193.24KB   6 downloads

The Pit

Walls: 2

Lumber: B

Towers: C

General: C

Very small base with a downhill vision. You won't be able to see how many are there and it will be hard to do. The lumber setup in this base is weird and can only fit 3 level 7 mills.

Attached File  The Pit.jpg   161.35KB   0 downloads

X-61

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

Fairly straightforward base. Can fit 4 level 7 mills, Has no walls so you can see what is coming to you. I think this base is better than others because it doesn't feel like you are trapped in a box.

Attached File  X61.jpg   172.96KB   0 downloads

Mail Room

Walls: 4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: B

I think this base is okay. It comes with a few units and a vendor. You can put alot of towers and lumber. I think a double lumber mill would work in this base.

Attached File  Mail Room.jpg   139.64KB   0 downloads

Y-53

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

Another similar 3 wall base. This time I think it has more space for towers. I think this is a plus. Can fit 4 level 7 mills. I would recommend this base over some of the others just becuase of the additional space.

Attached File  Y53.jpg   177.76KB   0 downloads

Y-51

Walls: 2

Lumber: C

Towers: C

General: C

Very small base, comes with 1 rocketeer and 1 medic. Very little space for anything. can only fit 2 level 7 mills. I believe its the smallest base. If you decide to use this base I wish you the best of luck.

Attached File  Y51.jpg   158.84KB   0 downloads

Y-52

Walls: 2

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

If you wanted a 2 wall base for lumbering this is that base. There is enough room for 4 lumber mills, and a enoguh space for all the other miscellaneous buildings you will need. Highly recommended.

Attached File  Y52.jpg   150.23KB   6 downloads

Y-54 + Y-54

Walls: 4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: A

I think this is a good base. A big base with no funny business. This is a good base for alot of lumber and towers. This is one of my favorites for team basing.

Attached File  Y54.jpg   176.79KB   1 downloads

Storage Room

Walls: 4+4

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: B

Very big base. Pretty much mandatory 2+ people base if both people pretend they are soloing. otherwise I think a lumberer in here or even 2 would be possible. I would recommend this base to a group with 3+ people.

Attached File  Storage Room.jpg   163.82KB   0 downloads

X-63

Walls: 3

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

Another 3 wall base. Can fit 4 level 7 lumber mills. Comes with no units. Decent choice to base here. It is on the outskirts of the map so air is easier to deal with.

Attached File  X63.jpg   143.84KB   1 downloads

Tree Base

Walls: 2

Lumber: B

Towers: B

General: C

I think this base is different from a lot of the other bases because it uses trees as a wall. This is both a gift and a curse. If you use Fallen Inferno, you can break the trees to make the base bigger. This is also a curse because if you accidentally mess up then there will be a whole in your base. This is a good base. Close to the corner so air wont be too difficult to deal with and bosses will take a long time to get to your base. Depending on how you setup your lumber mill building site. Your alchemist might have to walk to transmute lumber mills which is a waste of time.

Attached File  Tree Base.jpg   147.44KB   1 downloads

Military Base

Walls: 6

Lumber: A

Towers: A

General: B

There are a lot of walls to protect in this base. You get a lot of units. Most notably is a tank which will help a ton and also Rikimaru who has a devotion aura giving +3 armor to all units. You also get 4 turrets to help you in your mission to survive. This is a decent choice for teaming, I would not recommend trying to soloing this base by yourself.

Attached File  Military Base.jpg   158.17KB   2 downloads

The Cemetery

Walls: 2

Lumber: A

Towers: B

General: B

You get a little dead warrior helper to help stall a tiny bit and if you get lucky you might get an extra alchemist and health stone. This base can fit 4 level 7 Lumber Mills and is quite small and in a corner of the map. This is quite a good base for a 2 wall base. I would recommend this base.

Attached File  The Cemetary.jpg   146.63KB   1 downloads

That is all the bases in the game thus far, I will try to update this as the game progresses in the future.

A top 10 Solo base (in my opinion) in no particular order would be

1. The Hold

2. Y-52

3. A-14

4. The Cemetery

5. W-61

6. D-21

7. Summer Cottage

8. Abandoned Village

9. The Harbor

10. A-11

Nice initiative. But you should discriminate more between bases with your ratings (there are mainly A's and B's).

A table summing up the ratings would make it more readable at first glance as well.

And if you want to spend the time, adding the area for each bases (I actually did it to compare some small bases, since space is so valuable on them)

Gj anyway

Yeah I guess I should make it A-F. but giving an F to a base gives it the impression that it is unplayable and I didn't want to do that. I would make a table but know how I would go about doing that.
