There are a lot of players that claim bases for the sake of the units... mainly because of alchemists.
Having an Alchemist spawn next to each survivor at the beginning would be the ultimate advantage to be able to transmute right away!

Players who don't have access to alch hero and arent fast enough to claim rooms when people have wings suffer #3Posted 09 February 2015 - 06:17 PM
Although wouldn't they be crowded in the start then? In the light of the inventory squish, i believe that the alchemist unit itself should be taken out and somehow the abilities said unit had, should be transferred to something else that the player can get a hold of very early on. #4Posted 09 February 2015 - 07:14 PM even if i had to move my alch from start position this is a great idea making much of the map baseable compared to what it is now, many bases get ignored due to no alchs, or even worse units stolen from one base and brought to another just to -claim an alch the idea #5Posted 09 February 2015 - 08:47 PM It's not just one factor that makes some bases be ignored. For example: The big majority of the players fight to see who claims the security room first.
It's not just about the alchemist, which everyone wants, but it's also about the units. The said base, has a really strong combo with diversified units. With that in mind, sure. If all players start with an alchemist, that would be great, but it wouldn't stop the fight to claim X or Y base first.
Back on 6.45, not so many bases were ignored, because we could still use the comand -exile. So, almost everyone got used to claim the "best" units from X base and go to whatever base they wanted to play. Because, as getting there, it was just a case of exile the units there and start to base.
That's no longer possible, so even fewer players go to those already not so popular bases. Sure, something should be done about it, but I think this wont solve the problem. Just because they will have a free alchemist, doesn't mean they will give up on rushing to claim a base, since they've got it for free anyway...
Regardless, I'm in favor of this idea because, starting with an alchemist, all players would assume/figure that they need this unit for something. I've seen a lot of players just building lumber mills, without the help of factories, nor using an alchemist. This would definitely solve this issue, and make any base on the map claimable, since you'd already have an alchemist.
#6Posted 10 February 2015 - 03:50 AM i think like Azz that it will not solve the problem, but if it can get new player maybe to understand how the game should be idk maybe it's a good idea, but like azz said it will not stop people to steal the better units, i know its a little out of subjet but older version had a tutorial at the beggining it can help people i think as they see how to build wall, bot, armor upgrade, engineer, how to use alchemist etc.. it was really cool for new player, i was always pressing esc to skip it but if it can help new people (i play a lot on ent Bot) and i see each day people building so badly...no engineer, tower in front of wall.. people that watch the full tutorial can get something for the time they lose watching it maybe some wood idk if it's possible or a free alchemist /units lol #7Posted 14 February 2015 - 04:42 PM With all the alchemists that we have placed around the map we are basically begging people " PLEASE GET AN ALCHEMIST THIS THING IS IMPORTANT " If it's getting to the point where almost every base with units also has an alchemist there then we might as well just have people start with them because it sends the message better and people don't have to waste time at the beginning by claiming bases they don't need for an alchemist because they aren't lucky enough to have an alchemist at their base.
