Think about it what if there was a secret shop like the librarian but not so easy to find. Like you need to be a certain level to activate it and as a bonus it does int just revel the secret shop it gives you clues to where it is and then you go and look for it. Also the secret shop could be in a different spot every game and wouldn't be spawned until all the clues were activated and followed.

Sounds like a decent idea :)

so you have the idea of the "secret shop" but what would you gain from it?

Hey that's actually a kinda cool idea.

I don't know how well it would do as a shop though, since it sounds like the shop could be found really early (if someone deduces the clues really quickly) or way late into the game. If the shop sells items at a fixed price, people might come to it with too little money and feel cheated, or might come to it and just buy everything at once.

What kind of items might this secret shop sell? If the secret shop has really good items, or items identical to the normal shop but for a slightly reduced price, then every player will grab them and possibly trivialize the content. Then the game might have to get harder to balance things out and suddenly the player needs to get everything from the secret shop just to stay afloat. Not a good way to go. If the secret shop has not-so-good items then it (obviously) wouldn't ever get used. And even with limiting shop access to players whose heroes are at an arbitrarily high level, there's still a huge power curve between "just got to the required level" and "at 99th level and long since beat Behemoth". It would be awfully hard to balance items so they would be affordable yet useful throughout the majority of the game.

If I might make a suggestion, I think having this be a one-time reward would work better than having this be a shop. When a player reaches the secret, he could choose between a free mini lumber mill (a lvl2 when the timer starts but at 35:00 it becomes a lvl3 you can choose and then a lvl4 at 27:30 and a lvl5 at 20:00; that way it's a difficult choice in both early game and late game) or a weak but useful hero item (like +15% attack speed and a +5% vampiric aura or somesuch) or a one-use invulnerability item you can use on walls or one free upgrade. Sort of like the easter egg barrels that float down sometimes, but the player has a choice as to what he gets. (And maybe not as powerful as what's in those barrels; I've seen some pretty crazy items like an Electric Fist or a lvl5 lumber mill appear in the first five minutes of the game.)

Just my thoughts.

Ya it was just a thought, and you make some good points but item wise I was thinking like some items you unlock by beating the game on NM and Impossible so the noobish players can try out some cool items and get some motivation to level up and get more involved. But I dont know if this will ever become something because the points you made are pretty solid.

I had another thought to add to this, what if the secret shop didnt sell items it sold rewards that you could spend your levels on like new heroes or something I just think that being able to sell your rank levels for some cool decorations or something would be dope.
