I've been around when this game was in the 5.2 i think or b4 that and am i the only one that notice that people that have been around since then or b4 that participated on these forums A LOT have units/creeps with their names...may i ask why?

streets got boss named for him cuz Maddawg wanted to tease him..
then later there was a time you could donate 100$ (or sth like that) and get a custom hero made for yourself.. (nevo was like really desperate for some extra funding at the time..)
I'd guess somebody might pick just an existing boss name as alias for himself too..

Actually streets_of_rage donated 100 (or more, honestly Im not sure lol) bucks for the boss, Maddawg wasnt even around anymore when he started donating. The fortress defender LT Storm was actually named after the user years ago though as far as I remember, same for the merc 123HELLO due to him always using mercs so he got it as a lil' easteregg I guess.
As for the rest: Its either a coincidence or the user, like waffle said, just used the name as alias for himself. Or ofc special donator stuff.
