I've done  6.43 Eternia in my 2 wall base but I used repair keys instead even with the huge price increase. Could have been done with medics as well. And yes if you have a strategy to kill eternia that boss is pretty easy but if it was  somehow given a way to priority target living things like marines/heros/ she would basically be impossible to solo in 6.43

I think the problem with eternia is that it's meant to be a feat of strength. It's a boss but is it a boss fight? No. Eternia spawns in the middle and you can use the entire map and everything at your disposal  to try and kill it. If when it spawned mobs stopped spawning and you could only use a certain amount of space around the basement passage or a new place called eternias' lair  to survive and have eternia revamped to actually be a boss fight with different mechanics and so on. Basically if eternia went from being what it is now to being one of boss fights in the game Impossible bosses I feel like people would enjoy doing eternia more

just FYI living units have lower target priority on purpose. so that ranged flying wouldnt kill all ur essentials and leave walls intact..

Hello Englocked, I am glad to see you are still rocking FS like an ultra pro.

I happened to chance upon this thread today in my reminiscent journey to the past.

This was my original intention actually, but I didn't have enough time.

I wanted to bring back the essence of co-op to FS, at least for the ending (Eternia).

I really wanted to have the game finish off with something that required the utmost cooperation between players, such as Impossible Bosses.

I felt that my changes since 4.80 took FS in a very different direction.

I felt really guilty that in the past, every single game I played, there were chain bases, and team bases.

I also felt guilty in making FS so hardcore on lumbering like it is today, but for better or worse, FS evolved in such a way.

Due to my changes to the terrain and gameplay, a lot less people played FS as a co-operative survival game.

A futile attempt to throw some co-operative play was the Team Upgrades, and Global Cast abilities.

Eternia(Actually, at that time, the boss was "Marine Kid") was initially planned to be in the Dark Abyss, an outside area, accessed by a special item.

Behemoth was supposed to drop a Heart of The Abyss, where if you feed the Heart to one of the 4 portals, it will turn very dark and only Heroes can enter.

In there, lies a grand epic clash between the Heroes and Eternia.

There was a heck of a lot of balance issues to think about.

Many hero spells would require revamps, so that each hero would need skill and tact to use, and can be useful in his own way.

I really regret that I wasn't able to finish these plans.

Stuff happened, I caused drama, hell broke loose, I retired before I could make my dreams a reality.

However, with all the negative aside, and crushed dreams, FS now looks to have evolved a great deal since 4.80.

Sometimes it is a fresh breather, and quite fun to play the older versions again, as there have been both good and bad changes.

Still I am proud to have been a part of the FS community and team.

Shoutouts to Nevo, for taking me in, and for your continual enthusiasm in FS. Thank you for this high-grade site. I threw thousands of ideas at you, and you must have had such a headache reading them all, yet you continued to help filter them out to make FS what it is today.

Shoutouts to Zer0o, the #1 Terrainer who liven'd up the Fortress and designed a plethora of new, unique, and exciting bases.

Shoutouts to FS-Phoenix, for her continual support in FS bot hosting services, and always sticking with us through thick and thin.

Shoutouts to Waffle(est), I tried 6.43 (Beta) and you're doing a great job in the continuation of FS. I am so sorry for leaving the triggers in such a buggy mess, I am amazed you managed to work things out and make out what is what in there.

Shoutouts to TheFilthyRat, you presented me a legion of innovative ideas for FS. Thank you, for your direct help in FS development!

Shoutouts to Donators, I hope you are all content with your skins/heroes, I am very sorry for not having enough time to complete the more custom heroes to your liking.

Shoutouts to Everyone Else, I haven't forgotten any of you. We have had a wonderful time together, and I will always cherish those times.

On his deathbed Niwa met God and was granted one final wish.

He asked for one last day, to go through his past, and journey through all of his memories.

Now...

The time is nigh, and he shall finally be granted Eternal Rest.

R.I.P. Niwa

Well if what you spoke about did happen niwa it would have been cool if the soul of your survivor became bound to your hero so you only had one chance to win giving you a small window of error thus making it the ultimate challenge. I think a hardcore approach to lumbering makes the game more enjoyable because you only have 1 builder so this makes you have to have a little bit of micro management, without the high demand for lumber the game would be too slow paced in my opinion.

As for the current state of FS. I like where it has now but I have a lot of ideas on the direction I would like FS to go and there is definitely room for improvement but the #1 issue is development time <.<
