I don't know if LT stealer is in very easy mode but to new players LT stealer is a boss on steroids so maybe considering just removing him from Very easy and possibly normal mode as well and only having him spawn in for mad imp NM. Players are going to have to encounter LT stealer eventually but maybe let them build up some confidence first before they start dying to him countless times

i know for sure couple of bosses were removed from very-easy .. like the rotworm boss .. also stealer was removed as well
