Nevo, try to change the hotkeys of Lumber Mill, Gallant Statue, Critical Strike, Umbra Modification (most common used things). Feels strange when your left hand reaches the right part of the keyboard.

Left Hand commonly uses:

Q W E R T

A S D F G

Z X C V B

And the Right hand commonly uses the mouse.

Lumber Mill - B + G

Statue Upgrades - A(Valiant) + G(Gallant)

Critical Strike - R

Umbra Modification - B

Feel strange when your left hand reaches letter L (right part of the keyboard)then upgrading Lumber Mill since it is the most commonly built and upgraded structure in the game.

I fail to see how your left hand using "l" (or any of the ones you mentioned) should feel weird or impede your gaming experience.

you have to move your wrist. those keys are meant to e reached by your right hand.

also ever noticed many of the most popular maps allways use q,w,e,r or z,x,c,v as hero ability hotkeys. this is very intuitive as you don't have to read the tooltips for each ability to know what button to use AND they are all neatly lined up so you can combine them easily ;)

I've never really noticed that tbh, for whatever reason my left hand almost naturally goes to the center of the keyboard the way I have my setup, and shift-building/upgrading in groups cuts down on moving your hand anyway.

Personally i somewhat think it's intuitive to use what it sounds like. so Lumber mill would be L or M, both of which are slightly annoying to reach.

B for build also makes sense. Not entirely sure i'd like them to z,x,c,v and such.

also find it interesting the "T" changes builders menu, why this is, and why there is no tooltip to say that it is T, has confused me on several occasions. Now i just use it to blink quickly :P

t + k + click :)

q,w,e,r is confusing. dota doesn't even use q,w,e,r

hero push?

horde vs alliance?

qwer is NOT confusing

ever wondered why there is such thing as QWERTY keyboard?

left top of your keyboard is these letters..

and if you have UI that can have 4 abilities side by side it makes PERFECT sense that the hotkeys are arranged the same way on your keyboard.

you trade in semantic info (what the fuck we have that?? having second or 3rd letter of ability name as hotkey makes no sense anyway. + there is confilicts) for spacial information that is allways consistent and never has conflicts (because you cant put 2 abilities in the same location anyway)

now find a fault at that will you?

you claim qwer is confusing? you give no facts , no arguments to support your claim.

i say "T" is not connected to switching workers.. that IS confusing

i say "R" is not connected to Critical strike that IS confusing

I say on account of previous examples (and the fact i didn't even have to look for them cuz i know em by heart) that the current system makes no sense. any system that will add sense to this blizz-made-mess is an IMPROVEMENT.

having a qwerty keyboard makes no sense.. until you learn the history..

but now we have it ..

it would be nice to name em abcd or sth like that but those would be just randomly placed.. so you adapt to the keyboard you have and choose a sequence that lines up neatly..

some people are confused and not confused, then if you want q,w,e,r, since you are a dev... then why woudn't you want to make it?
