The thing i quite like about fortress survival, is that when some bosses spawn, you NEED to be prepared, you need to have some form of micro and to have got the walls/defenses up.
What if "all" bosses were like that? but if there's fewer players, less of them spawn.
For currently, the early game of FS is somewhat easy. I very rarely have any issues with getting started unless i get to greedy with my lumber upgrades and totally neglect the walls. The only difficult heroes are snowman, tauren and warden.
I personally would like to see a bit more "randomness" with the bosses. So that each time you play, different bosses spawn and you get attacked by different bosses. At the moment all bosses just spawn and generally attack the guy with the most walls.
So as title suggests, my ways of doing both:
1. Make all bosses actual bosses. Make them threatening. What if dreadbane kahn had 50% less hp, but immediately started destroying all the stuff in your base on arrival? i would certainly start focusing him. What if skrassh and the tentacles all focused one player and had double the damage? you'd need to be prepared in case it was you being attacked.
2. Make it random by if there is less players, less of them spawn, in general, 2-3 should spawn per player.
3. Make bosses which ONLY appear with 8+ players, but always appear with that many players.
So there are still new battles in each game.
