Builds to try when someone takes easy!

what do you do!? for playing normally is a bit of a waste.
Suggestion 1: build near the centre, generally i find the one just down and left of the centre is excellent at getting quite a lot of creeps whilst being fairly easy to defend.
Suggestion 2: No towers!
This is actually a lot easier than it sounds, just get gold walls up with couple of repair buildings behind, build bots (make sure you've upgraded your repair factory to be able to build upgraded bots!)
Here's one of my successful attempts:
can give the replay if you want it, but it's actually easy enough to work it out. Don't bother with sentries till after you got at least 2 marines out.
Suggestion 3: Save mr shinkel! the easiest way to do this i've found, is to immediately move next to him then build up a stall such as this:
Then when you gain control of him, put him into the base above, as it is a LOT easier to defend the one above than shinkels hideout.
Optional: Try to save him in his own hideout. I've found this is roughly as hard as trying to beat mad mode alone.
I dont think MASS paratroopers are a viable option as a suggestion, as currently they cause wc3 errors by the time you get them out, if you want to build them, try suggestion 2 and defend yourself with heroes and get some paratroopers to find you some extra exp!
So come on, what else can i do when i get easy mode?
Ideas appreciated!

I usually get bored of doing this and set up a base behind some massive blockades.
You did remind me about surrounding one of the side spawns outside with walls + arrow towers. That can be amusing at how long you can defend that for.
A bit of a note about the "no towers build":
You will find trojan VERY difficult without any towers whatsoever, this is due to trojan stunning your units for 6 seconds with only a 10 second cooldown, for marines will be attacking less than half of the time. This is until he uses avatar, after that it becomes a lot lot easier.

You could recruit more marines in previous versions, the '1 marine only' rule was implemented in 5.00c

this is correct
The idea is still possible, where you use one marine and mass snipers. I've had a marine level 40 on 5.00c. Be warned that they will NOT kill trojan 99.9% of the time. You will eventually need quite a lot of towers, as towers can't be stunned by trojans stomp.
