1+1 = 3 because if you cut up a 1 into 3 different parts you can bend it as it seems fit and then stick the pieces on the other 1 to make it resemble a 3. If you don't believe me ask my elementary school teacher Ms. Flowers as we did this project to prove the equation is in fact correct.
